I suppose if you put it that way (I actually meant a parent protecting a child or trying to protect a child, kind of like a bear and a cub – I was sort of thinking that way, having seen that bear the other day!)

It is hard to tell, I suppose. Some folks are mentally prepared for action (and I’m not surprised that this young man was, from his background story, he’s a go getter). It would depend a lot on the situation e.g. never get between a parent and a child, for instance.

In any case, you’re right, it does show what kind of person one is.
