Pet Dog Survives On Remote Island For Months
Posted by stephcolin on Apr-14-2009
Sophie Tucker the Dog - Sophie was traveling on a boat through the choppy waters off the Queensland coast in Australia with her family, the Griffiths, when she fell overboard. The Griffiths figured Sophie had drowned and they were devastated. Well, Sophie didn’t drown. She swam five miles to St Bees Island where she lived for four months. The island is mostly uninhabited, but Sophie stayed alive by eating baby goats who lived on the island.
A ranger somehow came across Sophie on the island. When the Griffiths found out a dog had been found there, they immediately contacted the ranger, because they believed it might be Sophie. And it was! They were reunited and now Sophie is back to living the good life!
