I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love. For me they are the role model for being alive.

Thank you for your comment, Marie!

And I hear you. I've never seen an aggressive greyhound and have always thought of them as extremely docile and gentle, but I should also say that what's often mistaken for aggression in dogs is simply their natural prey drive or defence mechanism. I tend to believe that dogs do not exert aggression unless they are provoked or feel threatened, like humans! And most of the time we won't know what's going on, because dogs sense subtler things faster than we do.

Great article, what a lovely story. I would like to point out that greyhounds are not actually "usually quite aggressive." They tend to have a high prey drive, but as a breed are typically far more retiring and shy, almost like a cat.
As a greyhound rescuer myself, I have never seen an aggressive greyhound, nor my own dog behave in an aggressive way. They will almost invariably give chase to anything that moves (and that includes plastic bags and leaves blowing in the wind), but as far as actual aggression goes, I've seen an 85-lb greyhound told off by a chihuahua.
